Cabling

Dynamic Cables

Cabling is an incredibly important part of tree care. Often, trees will grow in self-destructive and potentially hazardous ways if they have not been properly maintained from an early age. Cabling is a service that ensures added safety for trees in a variety of situations: whether it’s a weak branch union, an overgrown multi-stemmed or co-dominant stemmed tree, or just a weak wooded species. Cabling is also a preventative step against a future of expensive removals or heavy pruning.

There are two types of cables that can be used: steel and synthetic. Steel cables put holes in trees, opening up areas for potential rot and decay. These cables also have little to no stretch, which restricts important strength building movement for your tree. At Canopy Tree Care, we use dynamic, synthetic cables which attach around the outside of stems or branches, causing no damage. These cables allow for natural tree movement and growth.
